I modified xpaste, a small X11 utility that displays the primary selection buffer in a window.

Xdoit

xdoit does not pop any window on your screen but instead sends the mouse selection buffer to one (or two) application(s) of your choice. I use it daily to fire up lynx sessions and anonymous ftp transfers from URLs found in mails/news articles/FAQs...
